We know this will be very disappointing for the many people in T\u00fcrkiye who engage on Threads with their community. We are taking steps to minimise any disruption as much as possible, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Everyone using Threads in T\u00fcrkiye will be notified of this decision within the Threads app before 29 April.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">People using Threads in T\u00fcrkiye can choose whether to deactivate but not delete their Threads profile, or to delete their profile.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If a person chooses to deactivate their profile, then users\u2019 posts and interactions with other people\u2019s posts will become visible again if Threads returns to T\u00fcrkiye.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">People with deactivated profiles can download their posts and preserve their existing content through our Download Your Information tool at any time.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>This Follows an Interim Decision by the TCA<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The TCA recently issued an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rekabet.gov.tr\/tr\/Guncel\/meta-ya-gecici-tedbir-karari-2f9550bff3e4ee1193c80050568585c9\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">interim order<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> prohibiting the sharing of data between Threads and Instagram. We disagree with the interim order, we believe we are in compliance with all Turkish legal requirements, and we will appeal. The TCA\u2019s interim order leaves us with no choice but to temporarily shut down Threads in T\u00fcrkiye.
