That is why, today, we are announcing a series of new investments in technical infrastructure and social impact \u2014 helping us to deliver our mission.<\/p>\n<h2 data-block-key=\"8s45m\">Investing in our U.S. data center campuses<\/h2>\n<p data-block-key=\"chr61\">The information that we deliver to people around the world \u2014 through Google Search, YouTube, Maps and our many other products \u2014 is supported by our infrastructure. Data centers keep our products and services running around the clock and around the world, and power Google\u2019s AI innovation.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"dthf7\">Today, Google is announcing $3 billion in investments to build or expand our data center campuses in Virginia and Indiana.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-block-key=\"6cf82\"><b>Virginia:<\/b> We\u2019re investing an additional $1 billion, with plans to expand our three existing Virginia data center campuses \u2014 bringing our total investment to date in the state to more than $4 billion.<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"caft8\"><b>Indiana:<\/b> In the Midwest, we announced a $2 billion investment in our newest data center campus in Fort Wayne, Indiana.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 data-block-key=\"97jeq\">Announcing Google.org\u2019s $75M AI Opportunity Fund<\/h2>\n<p data-block-key=\"aht53\">Fulfilling our mission is about more than delivering infrastructure and enabling access to information \u2014 it is also about helping people grow their skills, businesses, and careers.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"8k0l1\">Together with our partners, we want to make sure everyone can take advantage of the opportunities AI will provide.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"906m9\">That\u2019s why today we are announcing a $75 million Google AI Opportunity Fund, made possible with support from Google.org, our philanthropic arm. Through this fund, Google.org will work with nonprofit, education, and other sectors to train one million Americans of all backgrounds and provide them with AI skills at no cost.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"1qqr8\">Alongside the fund, today we are launching the Google AI Essentials course, built by Grow with Google and AI experts from Google\u2019s Research, Technology &amp; Society team and across the company. The course will help teach foundational skills to workers and allow participants to gain essential AI skills to apply in their daily life.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"b9b38\">Two of the first recipients of the Google AI Opportunity Fund will be the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) and Goodwill.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-block-key=\"4vcnn\"><b>IVMF:<\/b> With this grant, IVMF will be able to reach more than 1,800 veterans and military families with the AI Essentials Course, and enroll more than 2,000 in the Google Cybersecurity Certificate program, expanding upon our joint efforts to help our nation\u2019s veterans achieve post-service success.<\/li>\n<li data-block-key=\"871ao\"><b>Goodwill:<\/b> Since Goodwill began offering Google\u2019s digital skills programs in 2017, 400,000 Americans have completed training and since been placed into well-paying jobs. With over 80% of Americans living within 10 miles of a Goodwill, the organization will help Google provide AI training at scale and provide the AI Essentials Course to local communities at no cost, reaching people with disabilities and disadvantages, youth, older workers, veterans, military families and people impacted by the justice system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-block-key=\"cr4jq\">Beyond the nonprofit sector, Google is also joining forces with employers, such as Citigroup, and educational institutions, such as Miami Dade College, to expand access to AI skilling programs.<\/p>\n<p data-block-key=\"cq1qg\">Together with our partners, Google brings a sustained commitment to developing talent who can benefit from, and add to, this growing digital economy.
