The programme will initially run across 12 countries in the Asia-Pacific, with the aim of supporting thousands of small businesses through a combination of in-person workshops, scaled learning modules, and partner-led training.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Addressing the opportunity \u2014 and the gap<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Small businesses are a critical engine of APAC\u2019s digital economy, but many continue to face barriers when adopting new technologies \u2014 including limited time, skills gaps, and concerns about data privacy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Research from<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deloitte.com\/au\/en\/services\/economics\/analysis\/ai-business-apac-trends-platform-adoption.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Deloitte\u2019s AI For Business: APAC Trends <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">found that small and medium businesses across the region are already embracing AI, but need more support to unlock its full potential:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>78% <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">of SMBs surveyed across Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam already use at least one AI tool<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>82%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> plan to adopt more AI tools in the near future<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>73% <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">agree AI tools help level the playing field with larger businesses<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>86%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> say AI tools enhance productivity and reduce costs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Small Business Growth Academy is designed to bridge the gap between interest and adoption \u2013 giving businesses the confidence and skills to put these tools to work.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Building practical skills for growth<\/h2>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAt Meta, we see every day how small businesses in the Asia-Pacific region use our\u00a0 AI-enabled products and tools, such as advertising solutions and Business Agents,\u00a0 to reach new customers and grow across markets,\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> said Beth Ann Eliason-Lim, Director Public Policy Strategy APAC, at Meta.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> \u201cOur AI-powered Business Agents, for example, allow businesses to respond to customers instantly across Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram \u2013 helping them provide always-on support without needing to scale their teams.
