Instagram Launches A Microdrama Series To Encourage Gen Z To Take Creative Chances

Today, Instagram released a microdrama series in India to inspire Gen Z to take creative risks and bring them together. The series complements the brand campaign that was released in the US, and aligns with this year’s product updates designed to spur creativity on the platform.

Launched in June, Instagram’s ‘Anyway’ campaign highlights how Instagram is a place for creative expression without doubt or inhibition. The microdrama series in India reiterates this message. Titled ‘Party of Two,’ the story follows two Gen Z flatmates with contrasting personalities and varied ways of expressing themselves creatively. The story reflects how Instagram is woven into culture while encouraging Gen Z to pursue their interests and draw inspiration from their everyday lives.

“As Instagram turns 15 this year, we’re investing more in enabling creative expression than ever before. This includes launching new apps like Edits for video creatives, or features like Trials and Reposts. We hope the byte-sized nature of microdramas, hosted on reels, and combined with a storyline that appeals to Gen Z, encourages them to tap into their own everyday experiences and share them creatively on Instagram.” – Arun Srinivas, Country Director, Meta, India.

The microdrama series “Party of Two” spans 7 episodes, starring actors and creators Nidhi Bhanushali aka @_ninosaur and Sunakshi Grover aka @sunakshigrover. The series has been developed in partnership with creative agency Communique and directed by Samudra Sengupta & Gopikrishnan Nair.

The trailer drops today, with new episodes releasing every alternate day, starting September 4th. This content will be available on @metaindia and @instagram
