Google AI for Education Accelerator has 400+ schools

In less than a year, more than 400 higher education institutions across all 50 states have joined the Google AI for Education Accelerator, a no-cost program to help students, faculty and staff with AI and other job-ready skills. As part of the Accelerator, colleges and universities receive access to the Google AI Professional Certificate, one of the first AI programs to receive a credit recommendation from the American Council on Education (ACE).

Helping students prepare for the workforce

The Google AI Professional Certificate, built by Google experts with input from industry leading employers, equips students with the AI skills that employers are looking for. With a focus on practical skills that apply across industries, the program teaches students to solve everyday work challenges while potentially earning college credit toward their degree.

Across the country, hundreds of our partners, including The University of Texas System and Vanderbilt University, are already putting these resources into action.

For example, The Texas A&M University System launched an AI Learnathon to provide AI training and tools to staff and faculty. Students at the University of Virginia who complete the AI Professional Certificate have an opportunity to put their skills to immediate use by partnering with local small businesses to help them integrate AI into their daily operations. And the University of Michigan is offering the AI Professional Certificate to all students, faculty, staff and alumni through their Center for Academic Innovation.

Shaping the future of learning, together

The Google AI for Education Accelerator and the Google AI Professional Certificate are part of our ongoing commitment to support the more than 6 million educators who use our tools every day. By helping schools and faculty bring AI into the classroom, we’re making sure the next generation of graduates isn’t just watching the AI shift happen, they’re making AI work for them.

Accredited nonprofit colleges and universities can apply to join the Google AI for Education Accelerator at no cost at grow.google/edu.
